For author and entrepreneur Jason Boreyko, everyone has the power to make their dreams come true. The problem, he says, is not that the dream is too big or too small; it's that we have become so comfortable in dreaming it that we wouldn't know what to do with ourselves if we achieve it. The dream has become some trap of sorts; and we've become like hamsters running on exercise wheels inside our little cage.

One of the things we must decide on then is to desire the dream so deeply enough that we don't let the fear of uncertainty or the lingering question of "What now?" hold us hostage, reminds Jason Boreyko. When we let go of these fears, he says, we will be unlocking potentials and possibilities beyond our imagination; and we will have gotten one step closer to the fulfillment of our dreams.

As a strong believer in the power of positive thinking, Jason Boreyko shares his first step to turning your dreams into reality: meditation or going within. Kindly read on below to learn more about it as well as his other two steps.

1. Meditate

Meditation is an underrated personal guidance practice, in the opinion of Jason Boreyko. Meditation or going deep within reveals answers that can help you determine the crucial first step to achieving your dreams. You could be guided to read books, take a course or seek a mentor. Sometimes, the answers are so clear and at other times, you will need to keep going within to help you fully understand the guidance. If you're seeking funding for a startup, you could get your answers through mediation, too.

2. Follow your inspiration

In relation to the above, you may discover the inspiration that you need to achieve your goals or make your dreams come true. Take note of the inspiration/s and see which one resonates strongly with you. Remember that to achieve your dream, you will need to take certain steps, and usually, it's the small steps that get neglected or overlooked. Following your inspiration is a small step that could lead to bigger, more concrete steps—steps that will take you closer to the fulfillment of your dreams.

3. Take action

Dreams will remain as such until you act. Don't let your inspiration go to waste; act upon it now because procrastinating could diminish your desire or 'dilute' its importance. Jason Boreyko reminds everyone that procrastination is one habit that you must consciously eliminate if you are to achieve your goals.

As a gentle reminder, Jason Boreyko advises that you should eliminate the habit of giving in to your fears, procrastination, and living in the past and future that you completely miss the opportunities of the present.

For Jason Boreyko, success follows those who live their day-to-day lives with a positive mindset and attitude. Success, he shares, for truly happy people, is no longer measured by material or financial wealth alone. As a matter of fact, the financial success that they achieve is but an incentive—a bonus—for living a happy, fulfilled and contented life. Have you ever noticed how some truly rich people seem to be unhappy? Wealth therefore does not equate happiness.

In this post, Jason Boreyko shares his own key steps to achieving a positive mindset. He believes that with a positive attitude, anything becomes more achievable, whether it is a small goal or a larger-than-life dream.

These are the 3 steps he'd like to share with his readers:

1. Go within

The most critical and arguably the most important step to developing a positive mindset is learning how to go within—how to go into the silence and be comfortable with it. Sometimes, people avoid being still because they know that the answer they need is not necessarily the one they seek. In other words, they already know what to do with a major issue, for example, but they do everything they can to avoid it because it's not something they're comfortable with.

When you go into the silence, certain things that you're uncomfortable with may be revealed to you and this could mean your own actions and participation into the life that you have now. But, Jason Boreyko insists, once you've become comfortable with silence, and you've learned to truly go deep inside, you will find that it will become a habit—your go-to practice when faced with a major decision or you're going through a difficult phase in your life.

2. Be mindful of what you feed your mind

With the onset of the internet and social media, negativity is easier to come across. From news stories to rants and complaints, the internet is overflowing with negativity. When you read these negative stories or watch negative videos day-in and day-out, you are unconsciously imbibing negativity into your psyche. You may soon find that you've become easily agitated, more irritable; you're looking for opportunities to complain and become offended and so on. Do not seek the negative in your daily life, advises Jason Boreyko; instead, feed your mind with positive things—positive news, positive stories, feel-good movies and videos, and anything that evokes happy emotions from you.

3. Help more

It's been discovered in various research countless of times: helping others does good to the recipient as much as the giver. Benevolence makes you happy because you're doing something that not only will enhance the lives of others but more importantly, you're doing something "bigger than yourself." In the words of the great American poet Walt Whitman, "The gift is to the giver—it comes back most to him…it cannot fail."

There are several other steps that can help you develop a positive mindset and consequently help you live a better life, says Jason Boreyko; but these three should help you get started on the right track.

Self-help author and entrepreneur Jason Boreyko believes that habits can make or break success. These are what you practice every single day, and often, these have become so ingrained in your psyche that you are not even aware anymore that you are doing them. In other words, habits have become so much a part of you that they make up a considerable percentage of your personality, Jason Boreyko shares.

If you are not where you want to be or you feel that life can be more than what is now, Jason shares that you should take note of your daily habits and see how much of these are affecting your every decision. It's not too late to learn and develop new habits, says Jason Boreyko. If you're ready to make positive changes in your life, and achieve the life that you desire, consider the following habits that successful and effective people possess:

1. They don't wait for things to happen

Successful people don't sit around waiting for manna from heaven. They are active players in their own lives. "Don't wait for doors to open for you," says Jason Boreyko. Find the door, build a door, work your way around a closed door, do something with the door—don't stare blankly at it and wait for someone to step in first or open it for you. Effective people create opportunities for themselves and make things happen.

2. They live in the end

One of the things that Jason Boreyko learned through the ups and downs of his life is to live as if you have already achieved that which you desire. In other words, focus on the outcome and then take the necessary steps to achieve that, using your values, moral compass, skills and expertise to guide you.

3. They know how to prioritize

Not everything needs to be done right away, and you don't have to do everything yourself, notes Jason Boreyko. A successful individual knows how to delegate tasks, and knows how to use their time efficiently. To be able to prioritize, you need to simplify your life. Eliminate stress triggers and "don't sweat the small stuff."

4. They make informed decisions

Successful people do not decide on a whim. They also do not decide based on emotions or personal opinions. They find out facts behind issues and seek the expertise and opinion of others before making a decision. When collaboration is determined as the more beneficial approach, they wouldn't think twice about calling everyone in to discuss the pros and cons of their options.

5. They take the time to rest

Finally, successful people know that taking care of their personal well-being is as much a priority as taking care of their professional responsibilities. They know that to be effective at whatever they do, they need to give their mind, body, and spirit a break from the daily grind. They make the conscious effort to rest and rejuvenate.

Jason Boreyko hopes that these five habits can help you navigate your life more effectively, and achieve success in every aspect of your life.
